A standout feature of the RM 35-03 is its patented butterfly rotor. This mechanism allows wearers to adjust the winding efficiency of the automatic movement to suit their activity level. By engaging the sport mode via a pusher at 7 o'clock, the rotor's halves separate, reducing winding efficiency during intense activities to prevent overwinding.

The watch is powered by the Caliber RMAL2, an automatic movement with a 55-hour power reserve. It operates at a frequency of 4 Hz, ensuring precise timekeeping.

Mimicking a car's gearbox, a push-button at 2 o'clock allows the wearer to select between winding, neutral, and hand-setting functions. An indicator at 2 o'clock displays the selected mode.
