The 40 mm Oyster case combines the robustness of Oystersteel with the preciousness of 18 ct yellow gold, creating the distinctive contrast of yellow Rolesor.
The bidirectional rotatable bezel features a 24-hour graduated Cerachrom insert in grey and black ceramic, with numerals and graduations applied via PVD coating in yellow gold. The screw-down Triplock winding crown and screw-down case back help ensure water resistance to 100 metres. The black dial features applied hour markers and highly legible hands, while the distinctive gold GMT hand with triangular tip allows a second time zone to be read on the 24-hour graduated scale.
The combination of the GMT hand and bidirectional bezel also makes it possible to read an additional time zone when required. The date display at 3 o’clock is magnified by the characteristic Cyclops lens over the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, enhancing readability. The hour markers and hands feature Chromalight luminescence, designed to provide excellent legibility even in low-light conditions.
Inside the case is the Rolex calibre 3285, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. The movement displays central hours, minutes and seconds, the date, and an additional 24-hour indication via the GMT hand.
The conventional hour hand can be adjusted independently in one-hour increments, making it particularly practical when travelling without interrupting the movement.
The power reserve is approximately 70 hours.
Completing the model is the elegant five-piece link Jubilee bracelet in Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold, giving the reference a refined character while retaining the sporting spirit of the GMT-Master II. The bracelet is equipped with an Oysterlock safety clasp and 5 mm Easylink comfort extension system, allowing the bracelet length to be easily adjusted for greater comfort on the wrist.
